Binny Jind
President & C.E.O

Binny Jind is the founder, President & CEO of Span since it's establishment in 1981. Mr. Jind has successfully chartered Span's transformation from its early history as a manufacturer of automotive electronics products to a leading provider of total solutions for the electronics industry worldwide.

Mr. Jind holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Thapar Institute of Technology (India). Prior to starting Span, Mr. Jind was General Manager at TRW Electronics.

 


Max Chipman
Vice President, Director of Business Development

Mr. Chipman has been Vice President and Director of Business Development since 1998. He is responsible for the strategic expansion of our network of value added logistics facilities worldwide, and for the continual development of concepts that support the lean supply chain requirements of our customers.

Mr.Chipman joined Span in 1988 and has held various managerial roles including Operations Management, where he was instrumental in developing the processes that pioneered the VMI model.

Mr. Chipman holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Toronto. Prior to Span, he was the Materials Manager with Scientific Atlanta.

 


Patricia Croley
Vice President & Director of Quality

Patricia Croley has been Vice President and Director of Quality since 1998. Ms. Croley is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of world class quality systems through out the global network of operations. Her responsibilities include the conformance and certification to QS9000 and/or ISO9000.

Ms.Croley the joined Span in 1995 as Manager of Quality Assurance. Prior to Span, she was Manager of Production Planning with Intel Corporation. Ms Croley holds a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University

 


Tom Krzepkowski
Vice President & Director of Logistics Operations

Tom Krzepkowski has been Director of Global Logistics Operations since 1998. His responsibility includes the development of customized supply chain solutions as well as the day to day management of logistics operations across all Span sites. Mr. Krzepkowski also plans, co-ordinates and directs the launch of new sites and new logistics programs.

In his previous capacity at Span, Mr. Krzepkowski was .Manager for Logistics for Canadian operations, where he pioneered the development of custom VMI solutions, the use of EDI and EDIFACT and developed specialized processes such as Kan Ban and Point of Use delivery and Sequencing for Supply Chain systems.

Mr. Krzepkowski holds a Bachelor of Arts - Economics at University of Waterloo and later as Bachelor of Computer Science at Devry Technical Institute. He also received APICS Certification for Supply Chain & Logistics Management at York University.

 


Tharma Kumar
Vice President & Director of Manufacturing Operations

Mr. Tharma Kumar has been Director of Manufacturing Operations since 1998. Mr. Kumar oversees the manufacturing and value added manufacturing operations across all Span sites.

In his prior capacity as Manufacturing Operations manager, Mr. Kumar has been instrumental in the developing a wide range of manufacturing capabilities at Span, while at the same time fostering a customer focused culture within the organization.

Prior to joining Span in 1990, Mr. Kumar spent 4 years in Germany, training as a manufacturing engineer

 


Jim Lancefield CFA
Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Jim Lancefield joined Span in 2002 and as CFO, his extensive experience in strategic planning in a high growth environment makes him a vital component of the Span corporate team. Prior to joining Span, Mr.Lancefield was with the Business Development Bank of Canada, where his experience with the technology, logistics, and automotive industries will be a tremendous asset to Span.

Mr. Lancefield holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University, specializing in Finance and Entrepreneurship and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He has been very actively involved with investor companies, banking relationships, strategic partnerships, and business planning / financial modeling.

 


Robert Rogut
Vice President & Director of Information Technology

Mr. Rogut joined Span in 1997 as Director of IT, and moved aggressively to develop a talented team IT professionals. Working closely with Tom Kzrepkowski in operations, Mr.Rogut has created IT solutions that allow Span to be a leader in providing cost effective supply chain solutions customized to customer specifications.

Mr. Rogut is responsible for software development, systems installations and maintenance, hardware and software technical support for all sites worldwide.

Mr. Rogut is Bachelor of Mathematics from University of Waterloo and holds a Management Accounting certification from York University.

 


Peter Rose P. Eng
Vice President  & Director of Engineering

Peter Rose joined Span as Director of Engineering in 1999. His main focus is the development of manufacturing and value added capabilities and ensure leadership in technical competence at Span Mr Rose has extensive experience in all aspects of product development and electronics manufacturing.

Prior to joining Span, he has held engineering management at leading technology companies such as Celestica, Scientific Atlanta, Visteon and Northern Telecom.

Mr. Rose holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Engineering) degree from University of Waterloo/Lakehead University as well as an Engineering Technology Diploma from Sheridan College of Applied Science & Technology. In addition, Mr. Rose has studied Robotics at Stanford University and Computer Imaging at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Rose was President of the Surface Mount Technology Association (Toronto Chapter) from 1995 - 1997; a member of the Board of Governors of George Brown College from 1998 - 2001 and is founding member of the Advance Centre For Microelectronics. Mr. Rose has extensive experience in all aspects of product development and electronics manufacturing .
